Millions hoddie walk

My current event was related to Zack's. Trayvon was killed in Florida for acting sketchy and wearing hood after buying a piece of candy at a store. The Millions hoddie walk was held in New York on March 21, 2012. Hundreds of people showed up wearing hooded sweatshirts and also to show their support for Trayvon and his family. Trayvons mother and father made a speech at the march. The participation who walked wanted to make an end to racial profiling. The guy who killed him still today is not got any charges. Do you think that this walk was a good idea? Do you think it would of been different if Trayvon was white?

  1. This walk was good for the cause because the neighborhood watchman stereo typed Trayvon for wearing a hoodie and being black. I do think this situation would have been different if Trayvon was white, race definitely played a role.

  2. I do believe this walk was a good idea and I think it helped gain awareness for the cause. I definitely believe that the situation would have been much different if Trayvon was was white, I believe that the story would not have gotten as much publicity as well.

  3. The walks definitely rose a lot of awareness across the country life john said. But i think it would be the same situation if he was white, because the laws are so unethical that someone like that neighborhood watch captain would have less of a fear against the law to go out and attack. I think the gun law in Florida needs to be change, i hope that this millions hoddie walk affects how laws are distributed in Florida and how cruel it is for this one man to escape this shooting.

  4. I think the stereotype of black people being more dangerous because of the likelihood of gang affiliation was how this watchman thinks. He probably does not consider himself racist but many people thin this way due to these stereotypes. This march I believe helped show the courts how many people support this family and they want this man in jail. I also think this was a huge help in supporting Treyvon's family.

  5. I defiantly think that this walk was a good idea and it is for sure a huge case of racism. This walk is causing great awareness for everyone that we will not just sit back and let this unjustice issue continue. By having a walk all of the public gets involved so show that everyone is supporting this cause. Racial profiling needs to end and I think this walk is a great way for everyone to help show how strongly they all feel about this situation.

  6. I agree with marry, this walk was a very good idea because it shows that people disagree with the injustice that happened. I don't think it would have beenthe same if the child was white but we will never truly know the truth about this. In conclusion, i believe this walk is a very good idea because it spreads awareness about this subject.

  7. I think that the walks are very successful by promoting this case the the country. By getting millions of americans involved in walks protesting racial stereotyping helps this case get much attention from the courts debating this murder. Also the walks are a great way to show support for travons family . This case is debatable if it involves racial issues or ageism, or just a crazy man who had the law on his side.

  8. I do think the walk was a good idea because it shows that people are upset at what has occurred and that nothing has come of it yet and maybe it would have been different because probably the guy would not have stereotyped him.

  9. I think the walk is a good idea because it is none violent so people won't get that upset about the people walking. I think if it was a white kid who had his hood on and came out of the store it probably would have gone different.

  11. I definitely think the walk was a good idea. The walk was good for showing support for Trayvon's family and helped raise awareness to how he was murdered. Also, the walk was a tragic indicator alluding to the fact that there is still a struggle for equality with race. I believe the situation might have been different if Trayvon was white.
